![]() ![]() The Daimler design had other shortcommings and would have weighted more as 35 tons in the end too. It is common that weight preferences were not met in the final product. Panther was that "35 ton paper design request". ![]() If you want to keep it simple do like I do: focus on Kursk. It might be a conclusion that you hate, but still. Through if you can prove that the alternative, REAL scenario of building only Panzer IV would mean victory (instead of hypothetical and magical 35 ton which, dunno, had 88mm gun and 130mm armor? and NEVER breaks!), by all means point how. Not talking about battles only, but the war itself. The whole Panther vs Panzer IV argumet is EXACTLY to point that the tank itself is just one variable in a system with MANY variables, and despite all the flaws of the Panther, they weren´t that bad that Germany lost because of the decision to build it. The only reason I mention Kursk so much it´s because one of those battles people like to blame so much on decisions like building Ferdinands and Panthers. Please, could you stop quoting me out of context? Thanks. ![]() Bro, if you actually bothered to read I made it pretty clear that the tank itself might be pointless in the end unless Germany had a GREAT tank when it mattered the most, that is, 1941. ![]()
